AT&T TL74208 – MAIN BASE SYSTEM W/ CORDED HANDSET – EXPANDABLE SYSTEM

I’ve owned this phone since May of 2008. It’s really a superb model. The cordless twins really make it much easier to get to and handle calls. The caller ID and number function enables me to know what calls to accept and which ones to ignore. The answering system works really nicely and can store a lot of message and many messages. You can load up a directory of up to 50 contacts and the phone stores as many as the last 50 numbers to have called so that you can dial back easily if necessary.

I have no complaints about this phone. I studied it carefully before I purchased it. It is a delight to own such an outstanding model. I will remember AT&T in the future if and when I am in need of new telephone equipment. This one is certainly top notch.

EDIT to the review: I have recently discovered that batteries for the handsets are very hard to find. So hard that I gave up and bought another phone system. I’m not allowed to change the actual rating for this product, but consider it to be lowered to 3 stars.

I purchased this phone as a gift for my 70+ yr. old parents, unfortunately it was too complicated for them so I brought it home to use. It is a good phone with good features and for those of us acquainted with memory features, ring tones, volume controls, caller ID… etc., it meets the needs. The phone is just a tad bit to short for me, it has to be kept in a specific position near the mouth or the other party can’t hear you clearly. Great battery and distance reception.

Vtech VT9241 2-Line 900 MHz Cordless Phone – Its easy to add extra 2-line cordless phones at this price. The dual keypad makes this phone versatile as you can dial and talk from the base without the handset. It also has a built-in speakerphone for handsfree communication and its great for groups.

This is the second Vtech I have purchased. The 9241 has a small footprint on the desk and mounts easily on the wall. This phone operates easily from the handset or base. The phone number lines are backlit but not the numbers. Still, the number buttons are easy to read and the person with large fingers will have no problem entering numbers. Enter numbers either by the base or the handset. Just select the line and dial. The handset fits the hand well and is very light. I use a headset which plugs into the handset. Voices are clear using the speakerphone, handset or headset. I walk around the house and out in the yard using the headset without problems. I use the phone for long technical support calls and really appreciate the headset option and portability.

The phone does not have an answering machine but my other Vtech phone handles that chore.

If you do not like to read instructions, need two line capability and a headset option get this phone. Just plug in the line and make calls.
